With more and more tourists coming to Coorg it is important for all visitors especially those in homestays, to respect the area as well as the local culture and traditions. Here are a few tips to guide visitors staying in our homestay:

Please read the description & cancellation policy carefully before booking. Any cancellation received within 14 day/s prior to arrival will incur 50%charge. Cancellation received within 7 day/s prior to arrival will incur the full period charge. Failure to arrive will be treated as a No-Show and no refund will be given. Early Departures: Once you have checked in, the room is no longer available to rent therefore no refunds will be given.

Loud music or noise in the guest rooms is prohibited as a mark of comfort of other guests. There is no elevator or restaurant on-site. Vegetarian or non-veg food can be prepared at home, on prior intimation. Getting outside food is strictly prohibited Homestay is a Smoke-Free Property. Smoking is allowed outside the rooms only. Rates are subjected to season and availability Check-in time is after12:00 pm and. Check out time –11:00 am. [any early check-in can be discussed with the hosts at the point of booking ] All Homestay Accommodation Fees must be paid in full before check-in. Homestay Accommodation Fees paid are not refundable Guests are required to provide any one government document details at the time of Check -In & fill up registration form & guest register as required by the Law. *Please Do Not * Expect Room Service as this is a Homestay [House-keeping service provided only on request] *Please Do Not * Ask for Camp Fires, Play Loud Music, Create Noise after 10 pm * Please Do Not * Expect a TV / AC / Fridge in your rooms * Please Do Not * Stay out very late at night, so check with your hosts what time they like to lock up. * Stick to the scheduled timelines for your breakfast 8 am to 10 am / lunch 1 pm to 3 pm / dinner 8:30 pm to 10:15 pm only [ please note food will not be served beyond the specific timings ] Smoking not allowed indoors. Please keep quiet after 10:30pm.

Meals and beverages

As you know, breakfast and dinner are included in the FU-BEST homestay option. Additional food and beverages are not provided by the family and are thus a matter you are expected to take care of yourself. Perhaps you can be given some room in the refrigerator, etc. Please discuss these matters with your family & friends

Conflicts and differences

Conflicting interests and various sorts of differences are a part of everyday life and must by no means have just negative consequences. The learning effect can be of great significance for the guest as well as the host-family. Be ready to deal with potential conflicts or differences in an open and honest manner from the beginning. Do not let the situation reach the crisis stage. Discuss problems with your hosts first.

Communication regarding your presence and absence On a regular basis

When you leave the home, it is vital for the hosts to know when to expect your return. This is particularly important with regard to meals. Thus, please notify the family if you will be late or if you are planning to spend the evening elsewhere

Do not leave your valuables (money, jewelries, etc.) unattended inside the bedroom. Only breakfast, lunch and dinner are provided by the host. Snacks or snacks items are for the expense of the guest;

Liability and Code of Conduct

Please note that your homestay is subject to the conditions spelled out in the Declaration of Personal Liability you signed as part of your application as well as in the program’s Code of Conduct (posted on our website)

These are all common sense statements but well worth reiterating as Coorg is home to friendly people happy to welcome visitors who appreciate their livelihood and culture. It is therefore important to remember to be considerate to the host family, but most of all enjoy the experience of life in this unique and wonderful place.
